Vermont State Police say the son of one of the victims killed in Pawlet has been arrested. Brian Crossman Jr., of Granville, New York, was arrested by New York State Police on Friday. He is facing three counts of aggravated murder arising from the fatal shootings of his father,

The suspect, who relatives said had mental health disabilities, was spending the weekend with his father and stepmother while his mother was out of town, according to police.

Relatives and others who knew him told police that Brian Crossman Jr. had for years shown unsettling signs of mental instability.

The murders took place early on Sunday morning inside the family's house in Pawlet, a small town close to the New York state border
