By Ken Ferris LONDON (Reuters) -Ipswich Town secured their first Premier League victory of the season when they deservedly beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 away thanks to first-half goals by Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap and climbed out of the relegation zone on Sunday.

Today’s victory was Ipswich’s first in the Premier League since a 1-0 win vs Middlesborough in April 2002, as well as their first away win in the competition since beating Everton at Goodison Park in February 2002, ending a run of 12 away matches in the competition without a win (D3 L9).

Tottenham fell behind for the 13th time from 15 league games at home in 2024. On eight previous occasions they fought back to win, but this time Spurs' luck ran out as they left themselves too much to do.
