Jones has cooled on the idea of fighting his next challenger, should he defeat Miocic. British fighter Tom Aspinall has held down the division as interim heavyweight champion — a title necessitated by Jones’ lengthy absence — and has been chirping for months about a unification bout.

Tom Aspinall is over trying to force a fight with Jon Jones. The British heavyweight champion has had a meteoric rise in the UFC, securing the interim belt at UFC 295 instead of Jones-Miocic and defending it at UFC 304 in July 2024.

UFC president Dana White believes the winner of Jon Jones v Stipe Miocic should “absolutely” fight Tom Aspinall.
