Council members retained their oppositional attitude toward the Philadelphia 76ers' plans for a Center City arena during hearings on Tuesday.

If the arena project is to be approved by the end of the year — as the 76ers have requested and as Mayor Parker is aiming for ― lawmakers would have to vote it out of committee in just three weeks.

On the first of eight days of hearings about the project, legislators showed concern over disruptions at Jefferson Station and funding.
