The rapid spread of false claims about election fraud has experts worried. While not being promoted by politicians or the media, as similar claims were in 2020, the conspiracy theories are still gaining traction.

False posts circulating on social media claim that billionaire Elon Musk facilitated alleged election fraud through his internet service provider Starlink, manipulating the vote count, particularly in swing states,

Left-leaning social media users are claiming Elon Musk, the billionaire Telsa and SpaceX CEO turned top Donald Trump surrogate, used his Starlink internet service provider to manipulate the vote count in the 2024 presidential election in the Republican's favor.

Federal and state election officials rebutted claims of widespread fraud. They said there are longstanding systems to ensure voting integrity.

Contrary to claims alleging election fraud, the vast majority of voting equipment is not connected to the internet and therefore could not be influenced by Starlink.
